【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedtoestimatetherelativeabrasionresistanceofsubjectmaterialsasdescribedin1.1.Nocorrelationbetweenthisacceleratedtestandserviceperformanceisgivenorimplied,due,inpart,tothewidelyvaryingnatureofserviceconditions.Theformulas,forwhichthemixingandcuringspecificationsaregiveninAnnexA1,onceprepared,arereferredtoascalibrationcompounds.Thesecalibrationcompoundsmaybeusedtodeterminetheperformancestatusofthecuttingknivesasdescribedinthistestmethod.Theperformanceofthecuttingknivesmayalsobedeterminedbyperiodicallydeterminingtheirdimensionsasdescribedin6.1.7.Thecalibrationcompoundsareusedasreferencestandardstowhichtheabrasionresistance,determinedbyvolumelossofasubjectmaterial,maybecompared.Oncetheresistancetoabrasionisestablished,usingthismethodology,foraspecificmaterial,theresultsachievedmaybeusedasabasisforfuturecomparativeanalysisofidenticalmaterials,eitherasagreeduponbetweenlaboratories,orbetweencustomerandsupplier.FIG.1TypicalPicoTesterFIG.1TypicalPicoTester(continued)1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheabrasionresistanceofvulcanized(thermoset)rubbers,thermoplasticelastomers,andelastomericandsimilarmaterialstoastandardizedreferencesystem.Astandardizedsetofreferencecompoundsisusedtocalculaterelativeabrasionresistance.Thesereferencecompoundsarealsousedtodeterminetherelativeperformance,withinapermissiblerange,ofthecuttingknivesusedinperformingthetest.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Allmaterials,instruments,orequipmentusedforthedeterminationofmass,force,ordimensionshallhavetraceabilitytotheNationalInstituteforStandardsandTechnology,orotherinternationallyrecognizedorganizationparallelinnature.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
