【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluatesthepercentviscositylossoffluidsresultingfromphysicaldegradationinthehighshearnozzledevice.Thermaloroxidativeeffectsareminimized.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforqualitycontrolpurposesbymanufacturersofpolymericlubricantadditivesandtheircustomers.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtopredictviscositylossinfieldserviceindifferentfieldequipmentunderwidelyvaryingoperatingconditions,whichmaycauselubricantviscositytochangeduetothermalandoxidativechanges,aswellasbythemechanicalshearingofpolymer.However,whenthefieldserviceconditions,primarilyorexclusively,resultinthedegradationofpolymerbymechanicalshearing,theremaybeacorrelationbetweentheresultsfromthistestmethodandresultsfromthefield.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoftheshearstabilityofpolymer-containingfluids.Thetestmethodmeasurestheviscosityloss,inmm2/sandpercent,at100x00B0;Cofpolymer-containingfluidswhenevaluatedbyadieselinjectorapparatusprocedurethatusesEuropeandieselinjectortestequipment.Theviscositylossreflectspolymerdegradationduetoshearatthenozzle.Viscositylossisevaluatedafterboth30and90cyclesofshearing.Note18212;Thistestmethodevaluatestheshearstabilityofoilsafterboth30and90cyclesofshearing.Formostoils,thereisacorrelationbetweenresultsafter30cyclesandresultsafter90cyclesofshearing,butthisisnotuniversal.Note28212;TestMethodD6278usesessentiallythesameprocedurewith30cyclesonlyinsteadofboth30and90cycles.Thecorrelationbetweenresultsfromthistestmethodat30cyclesandresultsfromTestMethodD6278hasnotbeenestablished.Note38212;TestMethodD2603hasbeenusedforsimilarevaluationofshearstability;limitationsareasindicatedinthesignificancestatement.Nodetailedattempthasbeenundertakentocorrelatetheresultsofthistestmethodwiththoseofthesonicsheartestmethod.Note48212;ThistestmethodusestestapparatusasdefinedinCECL-14-A-93.ThistestmethoddiffersfromCEC-L-14-A-93intheperiodoftimerequiredforcalibration.Note58212;TestMethodD5275alsoshearsoilsinadieselinjectorapparatusbutmaygivedifferentresults.Note68212;ThistestmethodhasdifferentcalibrationandoperationalrequirementsthanwithdrawnTestMethodD3945.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificwarningstatementsaregiveninSection8.
