【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverstheminimumperformancecriteriaforflameresistanceandotherrequirementsforrainwearusedbyworkerswiththepotentialtobesimultaneouslyexposedtowetweatherconditionsandeitherhydrocarbonorpetrochemicalindustrialfires.Thepurchaserhastheoptiontoperformorhaveperformedanyofthetestsrequiredbythisspecificationinordertoverifytheperformanceoftherainwear.Thisspecificationforrainwearshallnotbeconstruedasarequirementfortheuseofanyparticularrainwearmaterial.1.1Thisspecificationestablishesapplicabletestmethods,minimumphysicalandthermalperformancecriteria,asuggestedsizingguide,andsuggestedpurchasinginformationforrainwearforusebyworkerswhoarepotentiallyexposedtoindustrialhydrocarbonfiresorotherpetrochemicalfirehazards.1.1.1Thisspecificationdoesnotapplytorainwearusedforthermalelectricarcflashhazards.SpecificationofrainwearfortheseelectricarcflashhazardsareaddressedinSpecificationF1891.1.2Theobjectiveofthisspecificationistoprescribefunctionandperformancecriteriaforrainwearthatmeetsaminimumlevelofthermalandphysicalperformancewhenexposedtoalaboratory-simulatedfireexposure.1.3Thisspecificationisnotintendedtoserveasadetailedmanufacturingorpurchasingspecification,butcanbereferencedinpurchasecontractstoensurethatminimumperformancerequirementsaremet.1.4Controlledlaboratorytestsusedtodeterminecompliancewiththeperformancerequirementsofthisspecificationshallnotbedeemedasestablishingperformancelevelsforallsituationstowhichwearersofthisprotectiveclothingarepotentiallyexposed.1.5Thisspecificationdoesnotattempttoestablishin-servicecareanduseofthisflameresistantrainwear.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundorotherunitsthatarecommonlyusedforthermaltesting.1.7ThefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainstoSections7and9ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
